I will try to pop write and bookmark my way through renovating my apartment. And procrastinate while at it
sure i’ll post Aaron Kuehn’s awesome bike poster up somwhere in the corner. i just need to figure out where it will not get dirty.
Oh, and also buy it.
And the operation is mostly a task to find the centerpiece for my future kitchen. I’m not about to buy an expensive fridge in order to cut the electric bill caused by my old one. Makes no sense.
What did make sense for a minute was to buy a standard, inexpensive one. Not a design statement. And make it mine, vintage themed, with markers and acrylic paint.
I want to Roy Lichtenstein a plain white fridge.

On route to solving the fridge problem, I’ve found an alternative from Gorenje. It’s fairly reasonable priced, although I’m starting to want a discount. Or an personalized-clever-fix-ideal-budget sollution (see next post).

robert indiana’s love sculpture is just the right amount of pop art. would love this mirror in the bathroom, it’s around 150 sterling pounds. which is a lot, maybe someone can do it just for the cutting costs here?
we’ll see
there was this fridge when i was little… a creamy white that came with age. and a vertical handle that i always had difficulties in breaking. it was older than anyone in the house (except grandma). i’m surprised i still remember it. but i do and i can think of no better way to add a personality to the kitchen than through a retro inspired design. the fridge would be a centerpiece, given the relatively small sized kitchen i have (no room for a kitchen isle). the problem, though, is that it’s 2500$.
but i’m not abandoning the search. what makes it harder is that i also have to think of the electric bill, and therefore can’t go for the genuine appliances from back in the day.
even though I’m more about functionality (or precisely because it integrated wonderful living arrangements into a fantasy decor) I wanted to share this.
I need just this type of encouragement, because I’m really disappointed in me running away from home as often as i can.. Returning just to grab some shut eye doesn’t make living alone any better
I cannot think of any way to gather up used skateboards. If anyone would like to experiment on my working hours’ expense - please check out my contact info. A trip to the garbage dump is the best option I could think so far.
I would use them as shelves & shoe storage. Some people took it several levels further, and there’s a link to a post on that in the title.
I don’t agree to everything communist, but socialists, liberal thinkers… have ideas that resonate with my own. Things as ‘they should be’ are being described best by this line of political thought and I usually agree. I find myself steering to the left when a complicated issue of social justice is interesting enough.
And make no mistake about it: acquiring a wireless router is a political debate all by itself. I’m the recent owner of such a communist device: I have the power to distribute internet access to those in need and the only issues I have with it are: how? and how much do they need?
Not ‘Why?’
I’ve come across a tutorial for having fun with those who are ‘stealing’ internet. Of course they are, but some might just be needing it, like I did last week. No IM, no Facebook, no blog, no rss feeds while no TV does real damage to someone being used to all this stuff - virtually all my entertainment is www related and I can’t change that over night for what I hope is just temporary.
I want to follow the steps in that tutorial to share a small portion of bandwith with the people in my building. Sort of like a free emergency line to surf on when in need. But I don’t know how to split my wireless into a pasword protected trusted group and a non-trusted group. Help??
